Robert J. Carmack does not simply present jazz. He embodies it. Holding a Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University in Theater and Music Production, Robert has spent decades building a career where artistry and intellect perform together in perfect harmony. Throughout his remarkable journey, he has collaborated with some of the most revered names in jazz history, including Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Shirley Horn, Oscar Peterson, and Freddie Hubbard. These legendary artists recognized in Carmack a fellow guardian of the music’s legacy, a visionary devoted to preserving not only the sound of jazz, but its spirit, humanity, and enduring cultural voice.

As Founder and CEO of Pocket Jazz Presents and The Red Cantaloupe Experience, Robert J. Carmack has become a powerful architect of artistic celebration and cultural memory. Through concerts, theatrical productions, multimedia showcases, and community centered programming, he has created spaces where jazz history continues to breathe, evolve, and inspire new generations. Recently, Robert completed his acclaimed Red Cantaloupe Jazz Celebration, an extraordinary musical and cultural event honoring the richness and global reach of jazz. In recognition of his lifelong dedication to the arts and humanitarian service, he was also honored this year with two distinguished International Lifetime Achievement and Humanitarian Awards presented by two highly respected music institutions in London, England. These honors stand as a testament to a career defined by excellence, cultural leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment to artistic advancement.
