TRANE AT 100

A CENTURY LATER, THE MUSIC IS STILL MOVING.

John Coltrane did more than leave behind an extraordinary body of recordings. He expanded the possibilities of the music itself, challenging musicians and listeners to hear beyond convention and to understand jazz as a language capable of carrying intellect, freedom, struggle, faith and spiritual discovery.

TRANE AT 100 celebrates the centennial of an artist whose influence continues to move across generations, cultures and musical traditions. Presented by The Red Cantaloupe Experience, this special celebration brings together live jazz, spoken word, historical reflection and contemporary interpretation to honor not simply what John Coltrane accomplished, but what his music continues to make possible.

From the musicians who shared the bandstand with him to the generations who discovered his recordings decades later, Coltrane's musical journey remains part of a much larger conversation about the evolution of jazz. His encounters with artists including Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk and the extraordinary musicians of his own ensembles became part of a creative continuum that continues to inspire musicians throughout the world.

On September 27, 2026, that continuum comes alive in Long Beach as musicians, historians, artists and listeners gather to celebrate one hundred years since the birth of John Coltrane.

This is more than a birthday celebration. It is an invitation to listen again.
